Uploaded by NorthernLightsBomb. - Check out more sports and extreme sports videos.
Andy Kaufman was a comic actor who rose to fame with the 1970s sitcom Taxi as well as numerous appearances on Saturday Night Live. He also involved himself with professional wrestling. While the fictional nature of wrestling (the WWE version, not the actual sport) is well-known, Kaufman manipulated the capability of television to make fictions appear real. His appearance with pro wrestler Jerry Lawler on Late Night With David Letterman in 1983 can be seen to prefigure modern "reality" television. If you wish to skip the wrestling component and just watch his Letterman appearance, move ahead to the 5-minute mark in the video.
